Beginning and end sounds

I am learning to look at the first and last sounds in words to help me work out new words.

Story Writing

We are learning to write down our ideas and draw a picture to match.

                     In the beginning ....                                 and now!

"I am learning to do finger spaces and full stops. It is tricky to do the last sounds. I like my stories" said Macy

Groupings with 5

I am learning to know the sum of 5 and any other number to 5.  I know to start with 5 in my head and count on.   I am able to do this without help from materials.

" I can put 5 in my head and then count on to the number on the dice." said Macy

Kai and Korero evening

At the start of the year Elm Park School had a Kai and Korero evening. Our families, students and teachers got together to share what happens in our classrooms and then we finished with a picnic.

Macy said, "My Dad comes to school and he can do real hopscotch!"
